Psalm 14:2
The Lord looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.

Do you know the plans God has for your life and future? In the Bible God reveals to us His plan for our destiny through the writings of the prophets, and He uses these teachings for us to learn and apply them to our lives. But if there is no one who is willing to get God’s Word out to those who have not heard the Gospel, how will they know how to receive Salvation?

Romans 10:14 -15
How, then, can they call on the One they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

God says in Isaiah 55:3, 6-7 “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake. I AM ready to make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the mercies and unfailing love that I promised to David. Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on Him now while He is near. Let the people turn from their wicked deeds. Let them banish from their minds the very thought of doing wrong! Let them turn to the LORD that He may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Throughout God’s Word the Lord reveals to us His longing to bestow His love and blessings for our present life and after we die for the future of eternity spent in His Presence, but we are warned of His Wrath, because of our unrepentant sins, or simply our ignoring His call. Our hearts will not want to repent if we have not received His gift of Grace through His Son, Jesus Christ. No one can hide their darkest secret, because He sees the inner most parts of our nature. He knows if we have a Christian heart after His own or a rebellious self-seeking heart after our own.

Romans 8:6-9
If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will. That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them are not Christians at all.)

If God is not on the throne of our hearts then we will pay the consequences for not living in Him.

In the Old Testament, Abraham was a man who spent time seeking God. He lived to honor Him, so he could walk in a close spiritual relationship with Him. He was called a friend of God. God made known to him that He saw the sins of a wicked land and what He would do to them. Abraham knew God demanded righteousness that comes from our obedience. And being a man of God, he himself was moved by the Spirit of God to have a compassionate heart for humanity, no matter who they were. Like Abraham, I urge everyone to pray for America to return to the Original Biblical principles we were founded on, and ask for God to have mercy and bestow His grace on this land that is still free. I ask you to ask God to put a protective hedge around His followers, while we seek His will to carry out the Gospel to those who have not heard or read. The Lord has gracious waited for the hardened hearts to bow in acknowledgement to Him in repentance. I praise God that He knows the weakness of the flesh and doesn’t judge us just yet.

2 Corinthians 6:2
For He says, “In the time of My favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the Day of Salvation.

The Word declares this to us in the New Testament as well in Romans 2:4-6, 8 Don’t you realize how kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Or don’t you care? Can’t you see how kind He has been in giving you time to turn from your sin? But no, you won’t listen. So you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself because of your stubbornness in refusing to turn from your sin. For there is going to come a Day of Judgment when God, the Just Judge of all the world, will judge all people according to what they have done. But He will pour out His anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and practice evil deeds.

Anyone who has a personal relationship with the Living God desires all people would come to the saving knowledge of Christ. So we like Abraham, come boldly near to the Throne of God, with purpose, and specifically asked the Lord in faith, through our intercessory prayers for all who need protection and deliverance from evil. None of us want anyone to come against the Wrath of God’s Judgment.

Abraham asked God in Gen 18:23b-33, “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing ̶ to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” The Lord said, "If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake." Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city because of five people?” “If I find forty-five there," he said, “I will not destroy it.” Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?” He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.” Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?” He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.” Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?” He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.” Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?” He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.” When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.

No matter the outcome of God’s Sovereignty, Abraham knew the wicked and their community’s destiny was in God’s hands, but he also knew what the Bible now teaches us. God wants us all to care about others and to love them as He does... just where they are... That is how He loves us all. He dearly wants us to know Him so He can lift us up from all depravity (where we are) into His Glorious Kingdom! But we have to make that choice; He will not force us come to Him for Salvation from evil’s destruction.

Psalm 34:15-17
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry; the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them He delivers them from all their troubles. Proverbs 15:29 The Lord is far from the wicked but He hears the prayer of the righteous.

My heart is praying for the peace of Christ to fill the hearts of humanity and the Hand of Almighty God to recoil the recurrent terrorist threats on our country, in Israel and around the world.

It is heart breaking that the world is suffering miserably and they don’t even seem to understand why! There has been a falling away from God’s original plan for us to holy and blameless before Him, because man follows after their self-seeking plans of success and victory.

  God says in Isaiah 55:8- 9, 11 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts... so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
He also says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

So as it is prayed in Eph 1:17-18, I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the Hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints. Amen.

(Spurgeon) The High Counsel of the Godhead guides our lives. “Remember, there is nothing that happens in your daily life, but what was first of all devised in eternity, and counselled by Jesus Christ for your good and in your behalf, that all things might work together for your lasting benefit and profit . . . Oh, how strange providence seems to you and to me! Does it not look like a zig-zag line, this way and that way, backward and forward, like the journeyings of the children of Israel in the wilderness? Ah! my brethren, but to God it is a straight line. Directly, God always goes to his object. And yet to us, he often seems to go round about . . . Let us learn to leave providence in the hand of the Counsellor.”

On Saturday, October 25, 2008 4:45 am, I am awakened to these resounding words from Heaven:

“What you focus on will be your Reward.”

Over the years I have found that there are wonderful rewards in our journey Homeward. Like those special occasions when our Savior gives us the pleasure of doing what He did while He walked upon the Earth. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him. (Acts 10:38) My seeing how God is also with us and directing our steps, and placing individuals along our path that need to be freed from their difficult season. I see why God gave Jesus the desire to fulfill His calling, even to the Cross, while trying to be a friend to the hurting in their time of need! Many times I see why we suffered in the past, only to bear a scar in the likeness of Jesus, Who healed the afflicted. I understand more and more how the sufferings of Christ made manifest in our lives become blessings. Once our scars are healed (or even in the midst) we find our Healer! Our Deliver! The touch of His hands on our body makes us His own! The arms of His embrace lift us up from the pit! The Glory of God’s Presence in our lives places us upon The Rock! The surrounding saints encourage us! The Holy Spirit moves within our spirit to keep looking in the Face of God’s Word! How else would we have a ministry? An opportunity to identify with the Cross? To know the Victory of the Resurrection? Our Salvation from the curse! We survived only because we believed God! Our God given Victory is His Grace and Mercy shed on thee! God’s Son is our Undeserved Gift and our REWARD! That is why in the passage of time we can see God’s Glory at work daily in our lives! So now when we are led to the needy, we are led with the eyes of our Savior, recognizing that their trial is something we faced at one time. And that becomes a moment when you find yourself of great value, not only for the individual that needs a special confidant, but also in the plan of God. Our cross is a miniature of Christ’s, for He bore every affliction and curse! There is no greater blessing in the heart of a Christian than to receive such an opportunity to be used by our Heavenly Father. Just knowing that you are now the extension of Jesus Christ’s feet, hands, arms, mouth and mind, enjoy being used by God and experience the joy His of His desires being manifest in your life! The Father, Jesus Christ, and the Power of His Holy Spirit, Who enables us to bring the gift of peace and grace to the afflicted, will become your fulfillment of joy too. Our speaking the very Word of God brings forth His healing Power as the Indwelling Spirit works in and through us. It is an amazing privilege to work in unity with our Lord.

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Psalm 72:3-4, 6-8, 12
The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. He shall judge the poor of the people, He shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor. He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers [that] water the earth. In His days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. For He shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and [him] that hath no Helper. He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in His sight.

Once we are willing to partnership in the Cross of our Savior and continue His service of the Gospel, our participation becomes an uninterrupted blessing of how God’s overflow pours out of us to the needy. I understand how the weight of our Cross has been lifted, by what Christ did on His Cross. We have no burden at all, because He carried our burdens and when we serve Jesus jointly and function in His union, we are yoked in His Power. The Love of God for us astounds me when I see how God was delighted in His Son’s Finished Work of The Cross to declare us as His Glory!

Isaiah 9:2, 4, 6
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great Light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the Light shined. For Thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor. For unto us a Child IS Born, unto us a Son IS Given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Romans 15:6
That ye may with one mind [and] one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Zechariah 14:6-7
"And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night; but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light."

Dear Friends,
One Sunday in church our Pastor reminded us to reflect on our past year. I took that to heart and thought we might want to reflect as a united Body in Christ. The news media has brought us some information about our Nation as a whole that needs prayer. The Bible tells what God says to the rebellious and unbelieving people in Deuteronomy 28:66-67 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life: In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see. Revelation 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

God says to His chosen, "Do not fear." In Joel 2:21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things. In Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord [is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. In Deuteronomy 3:22 Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you. 20:3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them. In Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. 31 What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

When I meditate on Scripture I see how the vision of God's wisdom and discernment is His Light giving us daily insight, instead of our limited and shadowed vision of human wisdom that is seen as nothing more than twilight. God works all things together for good to produce one celebrated outcome... His Glory.

It is exciting to know that with God victory is ours, that even in the storms of life we can celebrate the Truth of the Living God! Lamentations 3:19-23 I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

So even now as we reflect on the current conditions of this corrupt land we call America with its ongoing darkness that causes anxiety... the terrorists generating fear... man trying to take God out of everything... the many things that seems to predict trouble for an unpredictable American destiny. The Bible reminds us there has always been unwelcome events... dark times, crises, false predictions and witnesses who will create warnings, rumors of wars, fear and confusion among God's people. Jeremiah 51:46 Do not lose heart or be afraid when rumors are heard in the land; one rumor comes this year, another the next, rumors of violence in the land and of ruler against ruler. Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Fortunately every time we involve God, He calms the storm and its fury! Psalm 107:29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. God provided for us His Book of History that proves His Authoritative Control over all He has created! God is our Comfort. John 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Exodus 14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. God is our Peace and ever present Hope! Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

I believe there is hope for God to work His Glorious Truth throughout America as we pull together in prayer asking for godly wisdom in our daily walk, sharing His Truth. He is able to make us light across this land. Let's help to make it once again, America the Beautiful and the Land of the Free!

"At evening time it shall be light." Even now it is "one day" which is known to the Lord.

God sees everything from the beginning to the end and all in between as one picture, as one day, as finished!

There is Light at the end of the tunnel!

God's Light Shines in the Darkness! First we see His Smoke that darkens the sky and then God unveils Himself to us in small glimpses of Light... as a Babe born in a stable... to a Man that would save us from death as He gives His life a ransom for the many that would believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior to the Glory of God!

I pray that God's Hand would be upon us so that we who are living in this year of 2008 would make a world of difference by letting His Light shine through each and every one of us!
